Information to Cruise Travelers - Documentation

Just like in any international airport, passengers should carry all necessary travel-related documents in conformity with Customs and Immigration requirements.

In order to travel, it is necessary to present the originals of documents, besides the requirement that they are in good conditions. The Federal Police does not allow passengers to go on board with document photocopies, even if they are legally certified.

National Trips

Brazilian Adults

Identification document (RG) or any other identification documents valid in Brazilian territory:
Professional IDs such as CREA, OAB and CRM and the like.

Minors under the age of 18

In a nutshell, minors under 12: at first, they need a legal authorization..
Authorization is not necessary in the event of one of the exceptions below.
The exceptions, in conformity with Law 8069, section III, art. 83, § 1, of the traveling authorization are:
If child is accompanied:
1) with ascendant or adult kin, up to third degree of kinship, proved by valid document;
2) with adult, expressly authorized by parent or responsible guardian.

International Trips

Brazilian

Identification document (RG) or valid passport. Passport is required for cruise trips to Tierra del Fuego, and between Brazil and Europe. Other identification documents, e.g., professional ids such as CREA, OAB and CRM, although valid and recognized in Brazil, will not be accepted.

Foreigners

A valid passport is required (consult visa expiration date). For foreigners living in Brazil, the RNE - National Foreign Register is required.

Minors under 18 years of age

Embarkation of minors, either Brazilian or foreigner, regularly bearing the abovementioned documents, has to meet the following specific requirements, as stated in federal resolution 74, dated April 2009, by Mr. minister Gilmar Mendes : http://www.cnj.jus.br/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=7382&Itemid=512

In case there is need for legal authorization, the Justice Department, in Santos, has emergency service on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am to 1pm. Outside this special working hours, Santos Forum keeps personnel that can get in touch with a judge to authorize trip of minor under 18, in special situations.

Forum working hours, from Monday to Friday: 1pm to 7pm.
